Safety Tips/Thanksgiving Break/ Campus Building Hours

Hello all,

Please remember to lock your rooms, unplug clock radio's, turn off hot plates, coffee pots and other items when leaving for thanksgiving break. Furthermore, please secure your bicycles to the bike racks.

For those of you who will be on campus for thanksgiving break please go to the Campus Safety & Security website at http://www.grinnell.edu/offices/security/ for information concerning building hours over the break.

Campus Alert Bulletin 08-001100 (Unauthorized Entry Into Vehicles)

Hello all,

Over the last few weeks, we have been experiencing a number of unauthorized entries into park vehicles in the East Campus area. The owners of the vehicles are noticing items thrown around in the vehicles and items taken. Last night we experienced a few more of these incidents. We are working with the Grinnell PD on these incidents and if anyone has information as to who is involved concerning these incidents please contact Campus Safety & Security at 269-4600.

Please lock your vehicle when leaving it in the parking lots.

Beijing Opera Demystified

Learn about China's most renowned traditional theatre…

A performance/demonstration by Mr. Ghaffar Pourazar and Ms. Morimura Chie from the International Center for Beijing Opera based in Beijing, China.

Ghaffar Pourazar is a British citizen of Iranian descent, who at age 32 quit his job as a computer animator and enrolled in a Beijing opera school. After five years of intensive training, he started presenting a hybrid, bilingual opera production based on the much-loved legend of the Monkey King. His performance has toured the world to critical acclaim. Pourazar and Chie will be staging scenes from the production and discussing the tradition of Chinese Opera, from its origins to the present day.
